I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

Exactly - some of the celebrities in pacific palisades were actually pitching in mid-fire to help their neighbors. I’m sure some saw the footage of Steve Gutenberg moving abandoned cars that were blocking one of the access roads - he’s a genuinely nice guy who was just doing legit, altruistic work and one of the newscasters just happened to stumble across him (the reporter didn’t even realize he was a celebrity until 3/4 of the way through their conversation). There are celebrities all over that area - they are just regular people there - no fanfare, no body guards - and the best of them have been fantastically hands on through all of this (without any PR whatsoever). So the residents couldn’t care less about Meghan and certainly wouldn’t be interested in providing a platform for her to stage a useless photo op. She’s insignificant there.

That being said, I would not be surprised at all if Meghan approached the palisades fire area first (if nothing else, it’s closer to Montecito) and they sent her away so she popped across town to Altadena to “help”, with cameras in tow.

If they really wanted to I'm sure they could be helping out at a Red Cross emergency center or shelter, doing something useful like unloading cases of food and water, instead of standing around and offering hollow platitudes. But that would require actual work on their part.
