I do hear a lot about paying deposit in full. Over the holidays in the US, I paid a 50% deposit and it got transferred in a few days.

Yup! It was the small pave frivole pendant, with the pink sapphire in the center. I don't know if it's actually hard to get or if I was lucky. I've never seen it in person before.

Yes, I paid a 100% deposit for an item I've never seen in person. The deposit was fully refundable.

Yes in Toronto too. Early last year they were still taking 30% deposit if I recall but was advised there was a policy change.

I want 2 pieces the 10 motif guilloche and 10 motif chalcedony. Both the SA seemed to say, they have no idea when it's coming in maybe 6 months? If it comes at all. Again, it's not big dollars but still it doesn't feel right.

I asked my SA a couple of weeks ago about 10 motif chalcedony and he said around 2-3 months. Not sure how well that holds though!

Wow, that’s crazy that VCA and Cartier is doing this now. I’ve been to both boutiques, and haven’t encounter this yet. Guess I will at some point.

I've placed a few orders with my SA in Paris and they just require a 30% deposit. I've recently placed 2 orders that he said were 2-3 months but actually came within a month. The 6 motif rose gold hammered bracelet and the 10 motif chalcedony necklace. Only rule is that if I can't pick them up in a month, I have to pay the full amount, and then I have 3 months to pick it up.

I wish they could at least have provided an estimated arrival time. The response I received to my last inquiry was: “The deposit would be the full amount of the item. In terms of timeframe, it is hard to say. As soon as the item arrives, we will send them out to you.”
