Oh, wow, thank you so much for sharing these fantastic tips! I've noticed that my makeup tends to look cakey and doesn't hold up well after a few hours, unlike those flawless looks of celebrities. I'll definitely take your advice to heart and start exfoliating my face gently 1-2 days before applying makeup. I've been doing it once a week, but now I see the importance of prepping the skin properly. And you're right, using less product sounds like a great idea to avoid that heavy, cakey appearance. I'm excited to try these suggestions and hopefully achieve a more flawless and long-lasting makeup look. Thanks again for the valuable advice!I am not a makeup artist but I know someone who is a celebrity makeup artist.
He recommends to gently exfoliate the skin 1-2 days prior to putting on a full face of makeup. That way any foundation will adhere better.
Also, best to prep the skin a few days before with moisturization to reduce creasing and settling into fine lines.
Less product is more, the less layers of make up one wears, the less likely it will slide off the face, especially when it is hot.
And finish off with a setting spray.
wow thanks for sharing thisAgreed. Skin prep before and after your make-up application / removal is vital for a long lasting and blemish free make-up look. I use exfoliators, serums, moisturizers, and undereye eye masks.
These are some of the brands I use for most skin types:

Most of our actors have very early start times, so we apply these undereye eye patches, then send them to Hair, when they are done there, we continue with their morning skin care routine and make-up application.
(after a lot of trial-and-error, this brand works the best)

For removal, we use this routine in this order...

The above image is what we used on an actor who had very sensitive, oily skin and was prone to breakouts.
I also use make-up brands that are pH balanced for various skin types such as...

Anyways, you get the general idea. To achieve a long lasting make-up look, skincare and make-ups that are matched to your skin's pH is paramount.
