Wow. Well the tear will devalue it for sure. If Chanel won't fix it try Leather Surgeons. I've never used them before but so many on this forum and YouTube have and state they do an awesome job. I would counteroffer to $100 as what is $50 bucks? I know it's something but still. If I were in your shoes I would state you purchased the bag not knowing there was a tear, and now that you are aware of the tear, $100 is fair as you will be paying for the tear to be repaired and $50 won't be enough and most likely you will have to come out of pocket. Ask them if they are willing to work with you on that. Are you able to get a full refund if you want one? If so and you don't mind giving up the bag just state you love the bag enough to keep ot however if they can't work with you and offer $100, you will just return the bag. Just be ready for them to call your bluff.UPDATE: FP replied back. They are offering a $50. partial refund. "Due to the item being listed incorrectly."
I am wondering if I should counter that offer and ask for $100.? I believe Chanel does not repair vintage bags anymore. I feel with this tear, it has devalued my otherwise in good condition bag. If I were to bring it to get repaired, it will cost more. Anyone have any thoughts/advice? TIA
