UPDATE: FP replied back. They are offering a $50. partial refund. "Due to the item being listed incorrectly."
I am wondering if I should counter that offer and ask for $100.? I believe Chanel does not repair vintage bags anymore. I feel with this tear, it has devalued my otherwise in good condition bag. If I were to bring it to get repaired, it will cost more. Anyone have any thoughts/advice? TIA
Wow. Well the tear will devalue it for sure. If Chanel won't fix it try Leather Surgeons. I've never used them before but so many on this forum and YouTube have and state they do an awesome job. I would counteroffer to $100 as what is $50 bucks? I know it's something but still. If I were in your shoes I would state you purchased the bag not knowing there was a tear, and now that you are aware of the tear, $100 is fair as you will be paying for the tear to be repaired and $50 won't be enough and most likely you will have to come out of pocket. Ask them if they are willing to work with you on that. Are you able to get a full refund if you want one? If so and you don't mind giving up the bag just state you love the bag enough to keep ot however if they can't work with you and offer $100, you will just return the bag. Just be ready for them to call your bluff.

I've gotten bags that stated they had an odor. My first thought of odor is negative, but depending on the price and the bag, I take a chance and buy anyway. When I receive the bag, the odor is just the natural smells of the materials of the bag. To me that is not an odor. Lol. I think of something stinky when I see that word. Lol. Now if odor was described to be in a pair of shoes....forget it! Hahaha.

The other day when I spoke to a Personal Shopper re a bag at FP, the bag I wanted to see was not available. I was told it was getting cleaned. Within 30 mins the PS called me back and we went over the bag together. Apparently they clean or freshen up their bags now prior to selling. I'm not sure if all bags are cleaned. When I first started shopping at FP in 2016 or so their bags were not cleaned as I was told they sell as is. I prefer if they still did that as the price would reflect it. After it's all wiped down and hardware polished then they jack the price up by $300 or so.
I wish they'd leave things alone too, especially bags with vachetta. Some bags with vachetta seemed dried out.

I was wondering if my vachetta became darker on the multicolor Greta I just bought as the personal shopper told me it was being cleaned when I called. Lol. In the FP pic they posted, the vachetta looked light with very little patina. W,hen I saw in person it has a light honey patina. Still looks great but I wonder if the patina was as light as the pic. Lol

Has anyone bought a bag that wasn’t real from FashionPhile?
To my knowledge I never had personally but when I was at FP the other day selling 2 items, a woman walked in and was waiting for a quote for an item too. Not too much later one of the FP ladies came out and said "I'm sorry, this isn't authentic". I didn't see what it was as her item was returned back to her in a LV box. Im not sure if they looked at her item as a favor or she was trying to sell it to them and charged her $75 as it was fake. Someone here on TPF not too long ago reported that she bought a fake Hermes Twilly. FP did return her money. Hopefully they did not repost the item.

I just bought a LV from them and it looks great but the date stamp looks odd to me. I asked one of the to please look at the date but they haven’t replied yet.

I use this site to check dates however I guess fakes can copy real codes too, but here is the site if interested.

Does the font look off, is that why you are questioning it?

I was eyeing on a bag( LV)and it’s sold out today :frown: I was planning to buy after getting my $600 promotional code but now it’s gone:sad: it doesn’t look popular because only 3 people put it in cart. Now I need some time to collect myself lol.

Awe I'm sorry. I hate when that happens. Sometimes the person will return it after receiving it so keep a look out. Also check for a duplicate, as there is a chance another will come in later for you

I just noticed after placing an order that the conditions have a bit of a "range" now. I usually buy Excellent condition, but this one particular bag was "Very Good High" condition. I guess when looking at where the marker lies on the condition meter, it can either be high up on a particular grade, or towards the end, bordering a lower tier. Interesting!
