Hi all, looking for opinions on this Grey medium rodeo I purchased from eBay. it passed eBay’s authentication and I also had it checked by legitgrails who confirmed it’s authentic. However, my crossbody strap seems to be short; Net a porter and mytheresa both say the medium (black) crossbody strap should measure 118cm - mine (grey) measures about 94cm. I checked bal's site and to me, the black medium does look to have a longer drop than the grey, but I tried checking with bal’s (unpleasant!) chat support who insisted measurements should be the same across the board and it's lighting/editing that is making them look different. I haven't seen this discrepancy discussed anywhere so I thought I’d still ask around before disputing with eBay. Thanks!

@kleelee I don't see anything off about the bag. Bal's website says the strap drop is 22.6" (should be about 57.5 cm). Can you confirm the strap length by measuring the drop instead? I wouldn't put too much importance on NAP or mytheresa measurements, especially when Bal itself doesn't post that measurement and websites frequently cut and paste info off of each other.

The drop on mine measures about 18.5 in

@bagnut1, can you please post the length of the removable strap on your Rodeo?

@kleelee, I don't see anything else wrong with your bag. It might be hard to challenge authenticity with ebay if all you have to go on is the strap length posted on the internet. But getting a few more reference points would help strengthen your case. Are you otherwise pleased with the bag?

Otherwise I have no complaints - I was thrilled to find the grey in medium as it's been unavailable for a while, the leather feels great and the size is perfect for me. Just hoping it wasn't too good to be true!

This is a case of too good to be untrue. I'm having a hard time imagining that the fakers have nailed all the details, even color code, but somehow screwed up on the strap length.

Total length is about 116 cm including the hardware.

Can you also post a clear closeup photo of the screw that holds together the two metal loops for the handle and strap?

I agree with you. Given some of the QC issues that have been raised (see the Rodeo thread, although my bag is fine) it could be that the wrong/incorrectly made strap was included.

I'm not expert in anything Bal except my own bag but the images that were posted look like mine in the details.

Looks good. This is still a new model so we don’t have too many data points on strap length anomalies to know if it’s a red flag. I know I’m not you, but if this were my Rodeo, I’d be satisfied that it’s authentic and would keep it.

I see. Well, enough people have given it the thumbs up that I'm convinced. I'll just chalk the strap up to a minor qc issue and enjoy the bag  Thank you so much for the help!
